It defines the characteristic properties of anodic oxide coatings on aluminium, lists methods of test for checking the characteristic properties, specifies minimum performance requirements, gives information on the grades of aluminium suitable for anodizing and describes the importance of pretreatment to en-sure the required appearance or texture of the finished work.
