This International Standard specifies a method for the determination of mercaptan sulfur in gasolines, kerosines and distillate fuels containing a m?ss fraction of from 0,000 3 % to 0,01 % of mercaptan sulfur. Organic sulfur compounds such as sulfides, disulfides and thiophene do not interfere. Elemental sulfur in amounts of a m?ss fraction at less than 0,000 5 % does not interfere. Hydrogen sulfide will interfere, if not removed as described in 7.2.
