This Standard specifies an oxalyldihydrazide method for the photometric determination of copper in aluminum and aluminum alloys. The method is applicable to the dosage of copper at contents between 0.002 and 0.8% (m/m). The method is not fully applicable to the particular case of alloys with silicon contents greater than 1% (m/m), for which modifications must be made, as indicated in the appendix.
