This European standard specifies the dimensions, dimensional tolerances, mechanical, physical and chemical characteris ics, surface appearance and marking of ceramic tiles and slabs. It is only applicable to stretched ceramic tiles and slabs with water absorption 6% < E ^ 10% according to the Allb group of standard EN 87 intended for floor and wall coverings indoors and outdoors. exterior of buildings (see chapter 7). The standard only applies to premium stretched tiles and slabs. This standard is divided into two parts. Part 1 applies to the majority of ceramic tiles and slabs from the Allb group. Part 2 applies to ceramic tiles and slabs from the Allb group which are produced in certain countries, for example terracotta in France and Belgium, cotto in Italy and Catalan canopy in Spain.
