1.1 This test method describes the procedure for determining the compressive strength of concrete, using portions of beams broken by flexure. 1.2 This method is used in the Laboratory and as a means of determining the relative compressive strength of concrete. It should not be used as an alternative to the Method for the Preparation, Curing and Testing of Cylindrical Concrete Specimens (NORVEN 76-42). The values obtained by both methods are not equivalent or necessarily comparable. Note 1: The methods for preparing specimens for bending tests from which the specimens for this test are obtained are the following: Method for the Preparation and Curing of Concrete Specimens for Flexion Tests in the Laboratory ( NORVEN 76-44).
