The standard applies to the determination of air-polluting components in the outdoor air. The sampling period must be at least 30 minutes and not more than 6 hours. The provis on then applies to outdoor air with a nitrogen monoxide concentration of at least 3/xg/m3 and at most 2000 Mg/m3. Application of the standard is also possible when determining higher concentrations during a shorter sampling period (see 11). The determination is not affected by ozone, peroxyacyl nitrates, sulfur dioxide, chlorine and hydrogen sulphide and only to a small extent by nitrogen dioxide (see 12).
