This standard describes a method for the determination of copper content up to 5% (w/w) using atomic absorption spectrometry and is applicable to the chemical examination of iron and non-alloyed, alloyed and high-alloyed steels. If the requirements mentioned in Chapter 4 are met, the detection limit is approximately 0.0006% (m/m) copper. The determination is not dis urbed by the elements normally found in iron and non-alloyed, alloyed and high-alloyed steel. For the application of this standard, the instructions of NPR 6223 should be used.
