The standard applies to factory-applied external epoxy coatings of steel pipes and fittings to be laid underground, in dry form as powder or in liquid form as paint, at operating temperatures up to 100 °C. Notes 1. If the pipes and fittings are intended to be exposed to operating temperatures higher than 100 °C and if cathodic protection is used at operating temperatures higher than 25 °C, the coating manufacturer must be consulted in advance. 2.
