Scope
The standard applies to all types of sludge, sludge-containing water and air dust. After digestion, the elements in the debris can be determined. Notes 1. The applicability of this digestion is indicated for each element separately in the relevant standard for the determination. 2. Despite the particularly powerful digestion method, salts and oxides that are difficult to dis olve will not be brought into solution using the described method. Dis olution by making a melt can then offer a solution (see NEN 3106). 3. If the elements are enclosed in a silicic acid skeleton (sand and clay), the digestion with nitric acid and hydrochloric acid is not complete. A treatment with hydrogen fluoride can then offer a solution (see NEN 3106).
