This standard describes methods for sampling a quantity of milk powder with the aim of obtaining information about one or more properties and/or the composition of that quantity. The methods described deal with the technique of sampling without providing information about the number of samples that must be taken in order to make a statement about the quantity with a certain reliability. Notes 1. The standard provides methods for normal cases. To determine the inhomogeneity of a quantity of milk powder, one will sometimes have to deviate from the standard. 2. The sampling methods described in this standard obtain samples that can generally be examined according to the methods included in the series of standards for milk powder testing. If the latter is not the case, the required different sampling method will be described in the relevant standard itself.
