The standard applies to water with a boron content of at least 0.01 mg/l. The ions normally found in drinking and surface water do not interfere with the given method. Warning Experience has shown that serious errors can occur because washed laboratory coats usually contain a lot of boron, because most washing powders contain bleaching agents in the form of perborates. The boron content of detergents is usually several percent. Note The given detection limit is based on the repeatability data from appendix point 1 and has only an indicative meaning. The correct detection limit must be determined by the laboratories based on their own repeatability research.
