The standard is suitable for determining the content of dis olved nitrate and nitrite in water with a total nitrate and nitrite content of at least 0.05 mg/l expressed as nitrogen. Comments 1. By correcting for any nitrite present, the nitrate content can be calculated. In that case, the nitrite content can best be determined in accordance with NEN 6653. 2. Data regarding the repeatability of the method described in this standard are given in Appendix A. 3. To determine the nitrate content in soil, referred to NEN 5769.
