The standard applies to the investigation of water transport in and the water balance and/or the mois ure status of the unsaturated zone of the soil. Due to the non-destructive nature of the measurements, the method is particularly suitable for carrying out repeated measurements at fixed measuring points where measurements are always taken at a number of depths (water content profile). Compared to other determination methods, such as those with the gamma depth probe according to NEN 5784, the method has the advantage of the greater speed at which measurements can be made. However, the relatively poor spatial resolution of the measurements should be noted as a dis dvantage.
