This standard describes the determination by an adiabatic calorimeter of the heat of combustion of liquid fuels with a flash point higher than 55 °C, which do not contain free water or suspended particles and which consis mainly of hydrocarbons. The heating value is calculated from the heat of combustion. Note The heat of combustion and the heating value are used as a basis for the market value and for heating engineering calculations.
