The standard is suitable for determining the dis olved chloride content in water with a chloride content of at least 2 mg/l. Bromide, iodide, sulfide and thiocyanate interfere with the determination and are determined as chloride [3]. Notes 1. The sulphide interference can be eliminated by oxidizing the test sample with hydrogen peroxide before the determination. 2. Bromide is an irritant in levels from 30 mg/l and is then also determined as chloride for approximately 25%. 3. Data relating to the repeatability of the method described in this standard are given in Annex A.
