This standard specifies the safety and interchangeability of tungsten filament filament lamps for household and similar general lighting purposes, with:
——pear-shaped, mushroom-shaped, candle-shaped, spherical balloon, balloon with reflector or with other shapes for the same purposes as those previously mentioned;
——an assigned power up to and including 200 W;
——an assigned voltage of 50 V to 250 V;
——lamp bases type Bl5d, B22d, E14, E26d or E27;
——random finis ing. The standard also specifies the method by which the manufacturer must demonstrate that the provis ons of this standard have been met on the basis of an assessment of the entire production in conjunction with inspection reports for finis ed products. This method can also be used for certification. Details are also given of a procedure for assessing a party, which can be used for a limited assessment of parties. Lot testing provis ons are included to enable the assessment of lots that may contain unsafe lamps. Since some safety provis ons cannot be checked by batch testing and there is usually no prior knowledge of the quality of the manufacture, batch testing cannot be used for certification or in any way for batch approval. In the event of a favorable result, an inspection body may only conclude that there are no reasons to reject the batch on safety grounds. Note This standard relates exclusively to safety and not to the operation of tungsten filament light bulbs in terms of light output, service life or power consumption.
