1.1 Purpose This standard describes the amido black method for determining the total nitrogen content of milk. 1.2 Scope The method is applicable to raw or processed milk, whole, skimmed or partially skimmed and to reconstituted milk powder. It is only valid for samples of impeccable quality. Under certain conditions, samples with added preservative can also be analyzed by this method (11.2).
