This standard describes a test method for hydrogen embrittlement originating from an aqueous solution of ammonium thiocyanate in contact with prestressing reinforcement. This test does not make it possible to estimate the lifespan of a specific reinforcement in the various aggressive environments to which these products may be exposed during the phases of storage, transport, implementation and in the structure in service. But it makes it possible to characterize the reinforcements from the point of view of their resis ance to embrittlement by hydrogen. This standard applies to prestressing reinforcement.
