This standard specifies the conditions required to obtain reproducible and comparable measurement results of the level and spectrum of nois inside all types of vehicles traveling on rails or any other type of track. The results can be used, for example:
——to compare different vehicles on a section of track specified in this standard;
——to characterize the acoustic comfort inside these vehicles;
——to guide a program of more elaborate measures with a view to developing a nois reduction program.
