The purpose of this standard is to codify a method for determining the maximum nois level that a vehicle is likely to normally emit when driving in town, by measuring the weighted sound pressure level expressed in dB (A) . An attempt was made to obtain reproducible results as simply as possible. This method provides for a test of the vehicle in motion, in order to obtain a result taking into account not only the engine nois s, but also the transmis ion, the bodywork, any equipment of this vehicle, etc.
