Scope
This standard is the first in a series relating to cold drinking water meters. This standard covers terminology, construction features, metrological features and pressure loss. The second standard will deal with installation conditions. This standard applies to water meters of various metrological classes (see chapter 4) whose nominal flow rate is between 0.6 and 4,000 m3/h, the nominal pressure being PN 10 and the temperature of service extending up to 30 CC. The requirements of this standard also apply to PN 161' nominal pressure meters, with the sole exception of the connection flange template. The water meters covered by this standard meet the following definition: autonomous integrating measuring devices continuously determining the volume of water passing through them using either a direct mechanical process without the intervention of volumetric chambers with movable walls, i.e. the effect of the speed of the water on a movable rotating member: turbine, propeller. Where legal regulations exis , these always take precedence over the specifications in this standard.
