1.1 Objective. This standard gives the method for determining the relative density and density in air of essential oils, liquid at a temperature of 20°C. 1.2 Definitions. 20° The relative density d20 of an essential oil is the ratio between the mass of a determined volume of this oil at a temperature of: 20°0 and the mass of an equal volume of water at the same temperature. The mass volume at 20°C in air is the mass of the unit volume of oil at the same temperature.
