The purpose of this standard is to define and classify steel products based on - their degree of finis (stage of their manufacture) - their shapes and dimensions - their appearance. As far as possible, this classification does not prejudge the possibilities of use of the products thus defined. It only concerns products covered by the Treaty establis ing the European Coal and Steel Community; are not included in particular:
——steel castings - forged products - products obtained by powder metallurgy processes - seamless or welded steel tubes - cold-rolled strips with a width of less than 500 mm if they are not intended for the production of tinplate or tin-plated strips - drawn wires and - calibrated bars
