This standard defines the criteria for the choice of meters, installation equipment, installation, special requirements for certain meters and the commis ioning of new or repaired meters, in order to guarantee the accuracy of measurements, their consis ency and the safe reading of the meter indication. The field of application is that defined in chapter 1 of NBN E 17-101. Chapter 2 of this standard only applies to installations compris ng a single meter. The specific rules relating to installations compris ng several meters are the subject of chapter 3. “Combined” meters are excluded from the scope of this standard. Where legal regulations exis , these always take precedence over the specifications in this standard.
