The indentation hardness of flexible cellular materials is a criterion for evaluating the load-bearing characteris ics. The specified procedures can be used for the testing of finis ed products and for the characterization of raw materials. Currently, the procedures are applicable to open cell type latex, urethane and polyvinyl chloride foams. The results obtained using these procedures relate only to the specified test conditions and cannot, in general, be used directly in practice.
