The method is applicable to all surfactants. However, in the case of easily hydrolyzable products, measuring the foaming power of their solution cannot lead to valid results, the hydrolysis products gathering in the liquid blades and modifying the stability of the foam. NOTE — The ability of liquid slides is very sensitive to the presence of insoluble particles. This method of measuring foaming power should therefore only be used with the greatest caution for determining the foaming power of compositions based on surfactants whose solution is rarely complete. The foaming power is moreover, very sensitive to slight variations in composition. The results obtained on formulated product solutions must therefore be interpreted with caution.
