Scope

This International Standard specifies a process for dis olving poorly soluble sodium or potassium silicates in boiling water at ambient pressure, as well as a method for determining their insolubility in water. NOTE — When the solution method described below is used, the weighing samples which are prescribed in is /R 1690 and is /R 1691 must be replaced by solution samples of the same importance and the expression of the results must be modified accordingly.
