1.1 This International Standard defines only objective criteria for judging the value of the results provided in each particular case; it does not recommend a type of device or a method of converting the response of the instrument into concentration units, due to the wide variety of exis ing devices and the difficulty of specifying the operating conditions of a spectrographic installation. 1.2 It is essential, whatever the operating method adopted, that it refers to standard samples guaranteed by official institutions,1' or to any other standard sample accepted by the interested parties. 1.3 This International Standard is applicable to zincs and zinc alloys defined in is /R 301 and is /R 752, for the elements and at the contents indicated in these two documents, provided that standard samples exis .
