The purpose of this standard is to describe a method for assessing the adhesion of a bar or wire to concrete by a pull-out test (*). However, it is not intended to verify or determine the conventional adhesion characteris ics of reinforcing bars or wires to concrete. In this case, reference should be made to standards NBN 179-02 and 816. In the remainder of the text, the term "bar" is used both for bars and for wires.
