Scope
This Korean Industrial Standard specifies the testing method of outside noise emitted by stationary road vehicles, hereinafter referred to as the "vehicles" at a test location having acoustic characteristics readily obtainable alongside a road and the like. Remarks 1. This standard is intended to judge the presence of difference of noises emitted by the following causes and others by comparison with the results of reference tests tested in accordance with the same testing method (for example, the real test results of type approval), testing the vehicles in use. (1) The damage, abnormal actuation or modification of silencer and others which can not be found by visual inspection. (2) The partial or complete removal of devices reducing the emission of noise, such as silencer and the like. 2. The numerical values obtained in this standard neither represent the noises emitted by the vehicles during run-ning measured by the other testing method [KS R 1020 (Measurements of noise emitted by automobiles), ISO 362 and ISO 7188], nor can be used for comparison of noises emitted by different vehicles(1). Note(1) The different vehicles mentioned herein mean the vehicles which are considered to be not same in type, in type ap-proval and the like.
