This standard prescribes the methods for sampling of surgical dress ing cloth for determination of various characteristics, namely, ends picks, length, width, weight, pH value, absorbancy, ash content, scouring loss, net weight per packet, superficial area, count of yarn, breaking load and dressing content. It gives the number of tests for determination of various characteristics with specified degree of accuracy. It also lays down the criteria for ascertaining the conformity to the specified requirements for the characteristics.
