This standard covers the use of eddy current instruments for the non-destructive measurement of the thickness of a non-conductive coating on a non-magnetic basis metal. Although this method will apply to measurements of some oxide coatings produced by anodizing, it will not be applicable to all conversion coatings most of which are too thin to be measured by this method.
