1.1 This standard covers aspects of lining of canals with low density polyethylene films. This standard is applicable in case of small canals up to 10 cumecs.
1.2 Polyethylene lining is to be protected with different covering materials such as earth tiles laid with cement mortar, in-situ plain cement concrete and precast cement concrete slabs, etc, to meet hydraulic requirements at site.
