1.1 This standard prescribes the methods for the load verification of testing machines, such as those used for testing metals, textiles, plastics or concrete.
1.1.1 The following methods of load verification are described:
a) By standardized weights,
b) By elastic proving devices, and
c) By proving levers.
1.2 Whatever method is used, the verification should check both the repeatability and indication errors of the machine. This check involves the comparison between the loads read on the machine being verified and the load determined by means of the verifying device. The former is called the ' indicated load ' (F1) and the latter ' true load '(F) in this standard.
