This recommendation applies to linear scale instruments used in general, regional and local prospecting and for subsurface survey and underground workings, excluding radiometric bore-hole logging probes. They usually comprise the following parts: — a detecting device with one or more scintillation detectors; — a counting rate meter; — a power supply; — an audible device.
