Scope

The methods prescribed are intended for the determination of mineral oil content in conventional greases made up of soap type thick-ners. Method A shall be followed for all greases except those containing residuum, asphaltic oils, asphalt, tars, etc, as these ingredients usually cause stubborn emulsions if a shaking out process is applied. Method B will be applicable in the latter cases.
