Scope

1.1 This method covers the determination of the flash point by Pensky-Martens closed tester of fuel oils, lubricating oils, viscous materials, and suspension of solids. This method is not applicable to drying oils, solvent-type liquid waxes, or cut-back asphalts. 1.1.1 This method may be employed for the detection of contamination of lubricating oils by minor amounts of volatile material.
