1.1 This standard prescribes the method for ultrasonic testing and inspection of welds by direct contact reflection method. This method is applicable to material of thickness over 5 mm.
1.1.1 It covers technique to be employed at normal temperature. Care shall, therefore, be taken to ensure that the temperature of the test piece is not above the temperature for which the probe is designated.
