1.1 This standard prescribes the methods of test for aminoplastic moulding materials. It prescribes the methods for determining apparent powder density, density of moulding and bulk factor, mould shrinkage, water absorption, boiling water absorption, degree of cure, tensile strength, impact strength, plastic yield, cross-breaking strength, electric strength at 90°C, surface resistivity, volume resistivity, and resistance to tracking.
1.2 Should any inconsistency be found to exist between the methods prescribed in this standard and those in the standard for individual materials, the latter shall prevail.
