1.1 This standard prescribes a gas chromatographic method for the determination of chlorpyrifos [ 0, 0-diethyl 0-( 3, 5, 6-trichloro-2-pyridyl )-phosphorothioate ] residues in food commodities.
1.1.1 The method has a limit of detection of 0.005 μg/g (0.005 ppm ).
1.1.2 Standardized thin layer chromatographic ( TLC ) procedures may be followed, if neces-sary, for the confirmation of identity of the residues.
