1.1 This standard gives recommendations for preferred increments for building components and spaces and the method of application of the preferred increments to vertical and horizontal dimensions.
1.2 The recommendations contained in this standard are specifically related to the dimensional requirements of housing. The recommendations would also be applicable to other types of building or parts of building, having similar functional requirements.
