1.1 This method is intended for the determination of closed-cup flask point of petroleum products, their mixtures and other liquids having flash points between — 18°C and 70°C.
1.2 Two methods, namely, Method A and Method B have been prescribed. Method A is for liquids flashing between — 18°C and + 18.5°C inclusive; and Method B is for liquids flashing between 19°C and 70°C inclusive.
1.3 A procedure for determining the closed-cup flash point of petroleum products and mixtures to ascertain whether they give off inflammable vapours below 24°C is also given in Appendix B.
