Scope

This method describes a rapid procedure for the determination of trace amounts of chlorine in organic liquids. It is applicable to chlorine contents ranging from 0 to 500 ppm and is suitable for liquids in the volatility range up to and including gas oils. Note — The method should not be used indiscriminately as other trace materials (for example, sulphur, bromine) may interfere.
