This standard specifies requirements for the purity of hot-dipped and any other tin finish for metals, including the coating of tinplate, when these are used in the manufacture of articles during the use of which there is a risk of the constituents of the tin coating being absorbed into the human system, for example, in the preparation of food. This standard does not cover requirements for processed food cans.
