Scope
1.1 This standard ( Part 2 ) prescribes the method for determining tem-peratures of petroleum and its products when such products are stored in liquid state in bulk at pressure above atmospheric. Tanks and vessels which communicate with outside atmosphere during sampling or gauging, but which otherwise operate at pressures few centimetres of water above atmospheric arc excluded from the purview of this standard. 1.1.1 Vertical and horizontal cylinders, hemispheroids, spheroids, and spheres are some of the major types of pressure storage vessels. The usual pressure range is 0.175 to 0.35 kg/cm2 for plain and noded hemispheroids, 0.175 to 1.0 kg/cm2 for noded spheroids, 0.35 to 2.0 kg/cm2 for plain spheroids, 2 0 to 15.0 kg/cm2 for spheres and 1.0 to 21.0 kg/cm2 for cylin-drical drums.
