Scope

1.1 This standard prescribes the melting charac-teristics of sponge iron/direct reduced iron ( DR1 ) in electric arc furnace, in basic oxygen furnace when used as coolant, in cupola furnace and in induction furnace. 1.2 This standard should be read in conjunction with IS 10812 : 1984.
