1.1 This standard specifies the performance of the coating consisting mainly of aluminium oxide produced by the electrolytic oxidation precess during which the aluminium acts as the anode. It does not specify the quality or composition of aluminium.
1.2 This standard does not apply to thick, hard anodic coatings prepared especially for wear resistance.
