1.1 This standard covers the performance verifi-cation of liquid scintillation counting systems. The measures of performance considered in this standard are:
a) Counting system efficiency, and
b) Reproducibility of sample and background count rates.
1.2 This standard does not cover the calculation of sample activity for quenched unknown samples. Accordingly, this standard will not deal with sample preparation, efficiency correlation ( quench correction ) procedures, or the identification of unknown radionuclides.
