This Ethiopian Standard specifies the qualitative tests which may be required as preliminary steps to the application of method of analysis for detergents.
The qualitative tests are presented in two parts.
Part 1 - Qualitative identification of the type of detergent, that is whether the detergent is soap-based of non-soapy and identification of type of surface active agent, that is whether at is anionic, cationic or non-ionic.
Part 2- Qualitative identification of linear alkyl sulphohates.
