This standard describes matters related to the measurement of hysteresis loss of Cu/Nb-Ti multifilament composite wires using DC or low sweep field rate magnetometer methods. This standard is aimed at the measurement of hysteresis loss in Cu/Nb-Ti multifilament composite conductors. Measurements should be made on circular wires at or near 4.2 K. DC or low sweep field rate magnetometer methods use superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometers or vibrating sample magnetometers (VSM). If there are differences in the results obtained by using different (but calibrated) magnetometers during the measurement, the results measured by the VSM extrapolated to zero sweep rate shall prevail.
